Conflict minerals policy

In politically unstable areas, armed groups often use forced labor to mine minerals like tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold (3TG). They then sell those minerals to fund their activities, for example to buy weapons.

GEA supports public authorities, non-governmental organizations and industry associations in their efforts to stop the trading of 3TG that originate from such sources (“conflict minerals”). Accordingly, it is GEA’s aim to avoid the utilization of conflict minerals by diligently monitoring and auditing its supply chains. GEA expects its suppliers to commit to prevent the use of conflict minerals in their products supplied to GEA as further detailed in GEA´s Conflict Minerals Policy.
