Warning about recruiting scams

Recruiting scams

We are pleased that you are interested in job opportunities at GEA. At the same time, we also urge you to be cautious and wary of recruitment scams in which fraudsters pretend to represent companies. Unsuspecting applicants may be invited to participate in bogus interviews, asked to fill out fabricated employment applications, and on occasion, have even been issued fake offer letters, all with the ultimate goal of trying to entice victims to pay money or divulge sensitive personal information.

When it comes to our recruiting process, GEA:

  • does not offer unsolicited employment agreements.
  • never asks applicants for a financial commitment as a prerequisite for the preparation phase.
  • does not request your personal financial or banking information as part of our recruitment process.
  • does not extend a job offer without formal interviews.
  • does not use free e-mail services such as @gmail.com or @yahoo.com for official business. If you receive an e-mail from a sender that does not contain @gea.com, you are dealing with fraudsters.
  • does not communicate without information about a specific job opening.
  • does not, as part of the application phase, request sensitive personal data or information, such as your national identification number, date of birth, social security number, national insurance number, passport information or any number appearing on identity documents.
  • never sends a check prior to starting employment.
  • never as GEA or an organization that is recruiting on our behalf, provides an employment offer through Microsoft Teams or text messages.
  • does not provide direct monetary assistance for onboarding purposes or solicit payment from prospective candidates as part of the recruitment process.
