通过这种方式可以减少要处置的污渣的体积，并回收尽可能多的饮用水。封闭式设计和类似的封闭式安装可防止气溶胶的排放，因此可以同等程度地保护人类和自然。
此外，GEA 还提供喷气泵和真空泵等设备，用于在水厂中传输水、酸或碱等液体，或传输砂、石、盐、活性碳、离子交换树脂等固体。
