Pressure Lean Phase

Pressure Conveying - Lean Phase

Lean or dilute phase pressure conveying systems use positive displacement blowers to convey materials through a pipeline to a destination where the air and product are separated by a filter.

The product must enter the pipeline, which is at a higher pressure, via a special feeding device (a rotary valve airlock or a Venturi). It is then suspended in the airflow and moved at relatively high velocities depending on particle size and density. Generally operating on a continuous basis, product is constantly charged at the loading point and arrives at the destination without interruption, enabling this type of system to be easily adapted for dosing and continuous weighing applications.

Applications

Lean phase pressure conveying is particularly suitable for conveying low to moderate capacity materials over medium distances, from single or multiple points to multiple destinations. Versatile and adaptable, the low operating pressures allow less expensive pipelines and fittings to be used and, as such, these systems are often the most cost-effective solution for typical conveying applications.
