The new GEA gas cleaning plant was successfully completed and commissioned in early 2022. The production line has a capacity of 1,000 tons per day. The new GEA gas cleaning plant reduces emissions for dust, SOx and NOx by up to 90 percent. This is an extremely significant reduction in the environmentally harmful emissions that occur during energy-intensive glass production. In this way, the GEA solution makes a significant contribution to meeting the customer's legal requirements and sustainability targets.
Dust and reaction products separated in the electrostatic precipitator allow direct reuse as raw material for glass production. GEA thus directly helps the customer reduce the amount of raw material required per ton of glass produced.
Despite the impact of the global Corona pandemic, GEA was able to meet the project schedule in a joint effort with the customer.
Special attention was paid to safe plant operation even at high gas temperatures. In this case, water is injected directly into the DeSOx reactor to cool the raw gas. Another safety feature is the active plant bypass by means of a second blower.
