Stainless steel bellows are a hallmark of aseptic valve technology, ensuring the highest standard of contamination-free processing. But they are also a wear part and need to be replaced at regular intervals, highly depending on the type of product and process. However, just because the bellows are firmly welded to the adjacent valve parts doesn’t mean you have to dispose of the complete insert unit and bear the cost.
Our proven solution: GEA’s own send-in repair service where the reusable parts are fitted with new bellows and returned to you for a fraction of the cost.
Aseptomag® Double-chamber valve DK – Internal assembly
We perform this service directly at our production site, which means our experienced welders separate the bellows and replace it with the same quality and care as when manufacturing new components. While waiting for the repair – usually within a few weeks – you can use spare inserts already equipped with new bellows. To ensure process availability, our GEA experts recommend keeping a reserve of two extra insert units for every five inserts of the same kind currently in use in your aseptic valves.
With our Aseptomag® bellow unit repair service, you can save, on average, around 60 percent of the material costs that would be incurred for the complete replacement of the valve insert. The larger the valve and the insert unit, the more you can save.
We handle around 2,500–3,000 repairs for bellows replacement per year, at times more than a hundred for a single customer.
