Every type of liquid stored or processed in tanks poses its own requirements to the tank’s cleaning system. So plant operators always need to be on the watch: Inadequately selected cleaners will either not achieve the required hygienic result, leading to possible product loss or waste. Or they will consume excessive amounts of time, heat and cleaning agent – at high costs to the plant operator and the environment.
This is why GEA offers a comprehensive range of cleaners that can be used to create sustainable tank cleaning solutions for every soiling grade – from easy-to-rinse water-soluble liquids to highly sticky and viscous pastes and cremes.

Using the dynamic Sinner’s circle as a guide, you can determine the best approach to any cleaning application, saving the most of valuable energy, time and material resources.
Increasing the mechanical element with adequately selected GEA cleaners allows the other elements – chemical, temperature and importantly time and liquid consumption – to be reduced.
The percentage of the four elements that make up the circle will vary from application to application and will have a direct influence on the liquid volume shown at the center.
In a recent upgrade project to equip the fermentation tanks of a brewery with optimally adequate cleaners instead of the previously installed spray balls, we were able to reduce the flow rate from more than 50,000 L to just a little over 9,000 L per 10-minute cleaning cycle.
Using modular OC200 orbital cleaners with 3 x 12 mm nozzles also improved the impact cleaning power, ensuring that all areas of the tank benefit from direct-impact cleaning and will not rely on water rundown.
