Clearing the path for water and resource savings.

Clearing the path for water and ressource savings.

Recover the value – reduce the waste

Not every quantity of ingredients needs to be freshly sourced – some may already be present in your pipeline – trapped as product residues. Why flush these valuable resources out and let them go to waste? GEA makes it possible to recover them, keep them in the process – and save extra flushing water!

Do it with GEA: Just one of many innovations and breakthroughs from our specialists to make you more successful.

GEA VARICOVER® Product Recovery System

GEA’s renowned aseptic and hygienic product recovery or pigging systems helps companies to save product ingredients that often already have been expensively treated, and to also save flushing water – simply by minimizing waste. How does it work? A plastic pig is propelled through sections of the pipeline by compressed air, pushing out the product residues. The more viscous the product, such as yoghurt, and the longer the pipe section, the greater the amount of product you can recover, particularly in later process stages.

Saving water

Saving water where it counts

In many world regions – some with extensive processing industries – diminishing water supply is already a severe problem. Product recovery systems are especially welcome there, because just by removing pipeline residues they can noticeably reduce CIP water consumption and additionally save water as a product ingredient.
Clearing the path for less wastewater

Clearing the path for less wastewater

Water is a valuable and limited resource. With increasing periods of drought and controversies over water rights, this fact has only become clearer. The freshwater consumption of industrial companies is under constant scrutiny. Pigging of product-carrying pipelines, a well-established method, supports water savings during pipe cleaning and minimizes product loss in liquid processes, enabling companies to achieve more sustainable production and more consistently.

Product recovery systems

Cleaning of process lines are always an issue – both to meet the strictest criteria for hygienic design both also to gain as much product out of the pipes as possible. The answer to both cleaning and maximum output is a Product Recovery System.
