Located in Parma, Italy, just 100 kilometres from Milan, GEA’s PTC for homogenization opened its doors to customers in 1990. Conveniently situated next to GEA’s production site for its world-class homogenizers, the PTC and its staff play a critical role in serving customers and in the development of new solutions. Here, manufacturers from the dairy processing, food, beverage, chemical, home & personal care, biotech and pharma industries can test, develop and optimize products to ensure high-quality results before scaling up production or making equipment investments.
Our testing equipment, accommodating trials for both batch and continuous manufacturing includes: pre-mixer and turbo-emulsifier tanks; table-top homogenizers; pilot plant homogenizers and laboratory fume hood. The lab is equipped for: microscope analysis; particle size characterization (micro & nano) as well as viscosity-rheology and stability analysis. A portion of the PTC is devoted to R&D and exploring new homogenization technologies as well as prototype testing.
