Your responsibilities and tasks:

The Senior Project Manager establishes tools and institutes processes and procedures for managing engineering projects through inception to completion.  S/he leads and manages those engineering projects, with the authority and responsibility to run the projects on a day-to-day basis. The role includes the coordination of activities, resources, equipment, tools and information to ensure project goals are met (product in spec., on time and on budget). The Senior Project Manager acts as a point of contact for all stakeholders (including clients, team members, upper management, and external vendors).

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process and Tools Development: Oversee the development of new tools and processes to ensure complete and efficient management of projects.
  • Project Management and Execution: Managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, resource allocation, and milestones, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and conduct regular performance checks.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project success. Implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication among team members, stakeholders, and clients, keeping them informed about project progress, changes, and key decisions.
  • Budget Control: Monitor project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet the specified quality standards and satisfy client requirements. Conduct regular reviews and inspections to maintain high-quality output.
  • Scope Management: Assess and manage changes to project scope, documenting and communicating scope modifications to all relevant parties.
  • Project Reporting: Generate accurate and detailed project status reports, highlighting key performance metrics, risks, and accomplishments for management and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement initiatives, incorporating lessons learned from previous projects to enhance overall project management efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to ensure customer satisfaction and identify potential business opportunities.
  • Automation: Implementing automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of fostering collaboration among stakeholders and resolving conflicts constructively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to address challenges and make data-driven decisions.

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or similar technical subject
  • PMP Certification.
  • 10+ years of engineering project management experience, ideally in refrigeration industry
  • Track record of managing complex projects to successful conclusion.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
