Your responsibilities and tasks:

We are currently looking for a National Technical & Sales Support Specialist who can perform the following tasks, based in Cape Town or Johannesburg:

  • Provide technical and product related support to GEA Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to assist with trouble shooting and root cause analysis.

  • On-site technical support to FSEs and customers

  • Support service branches with technical queries and compile technical reports where required.

  • Conduct technical and compliance audits on customers’ sites, identifying operational risks, shortcomings and convert to service opportunities.

  • Sales support to service branches.

  • Development of Technical Support Specialists in the major service hubs

  • Support service branches with actions to improve quality of workmanship.

  • Identify and communicate training requirements to HRT Technical trainer

  • Warranty Management

  • Assist with the assessment of warranty jobs in service departments

  • Compile and distribute lessons learnt documents, based on badly executed jobs and associated risk

  • Support service branches with customer meetings related to warranty jobs

  • Identify and communicate best practices

Your profile and qualifications:

Educational Background: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Professional Knowledge and Experiences:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in Sales and technical support in Ammonia Industrial Refrigeration.

  • Sound knowledge of GEA Service offerings.

  • SAQCC Authorized Refrigeration (Designer and Inspector – Industrial Refrigeration)

  • Trade tested in Refrigeration
