In 2002, Kaeb Sales installed four GEA Futuro pumps at Herrema Dairy, in Fair Oaks, Indiana. These pumps have been pumping every day for over 17 years and have pumped over 800 million gallons of dairy manure. Herrema Dairy houses cows in a tunnel vent dairy barn and use recycled manure fiber bedding. The installation utilizes a 90-degree suction pipe, and each pump handles about 40,000 gallons of liquid a day. The original four pumps have had minimal maintenance over the 17 years. “They can be carefree if you look after them,” says Chris Peck, Maintenance Manager.
Herrema Dairy has now added six additional Futuro pumps for a total of ten.
The Futuro is a low energy pump allowing to transfer manure containing a small amount of bedding.
