A carbon neutral choice.

GEA E-Bake

The traditional baking process has been renovated thanks to new electric heating systems. Discover our electric oven solutions for a greener option without compromises.

Due to the current climate situation the world is now at a turning point. Wanting to be part of the change, GEA has developed innovative baking solutions, which allow producers to deliver a wide range of products to the market, while maintaining an environmental-friendly approach. When baking using an electric oven, the only discharge to the atmosphere are those particulates which are released from the product during the baking process. For this reason, electric ovens are commonly referred to as a “zero impact solution” and are ideally placed to meet low emission requirements.

The GEA E-Bake is designed to be a carbon neutral solution, which features a radiant, convective or hybrid electric system. By combining these systems, it is possible to produce rotary molded, extruded, deposited soft dough cookies, as well as cakes, pies, tarts, and many other products. By producing standard electric ovens for more than 40 years, GEA has developed deep experience and know-how in this technology, which led to the launch of a newly designed electric oven that takes advantage of the radiant and convective heating systems. If combined into the GEA H-Bake, these heating systems allow producers to explore multiple options for their baking process, removing boundaries to a single-product line and guaranteeing consistency of quality production.

The GEA E-Bake features:

  • Working width of 1000 – 4000mm (42” – 13’).
  • Working length up to 140m (460’).
  • Pre-assembled modules of 2100mm (7’).
  • 0 – 100% electric power modulation.
  • Three-zone heaters.
  • Possibility to work with all kinds of conveyor.
  • Full width top steam extraction from the baking chamber.

Energy efficiency

The use of insulating material such as high-density rock-wool ensures that minimal heat is lost through the oven walls and the exterior of the ovens stays cool. An automatically controlled extraction damper helps to save energy and reduces emissions to the atmosphere. Optional heat recovery systems minimize energy consumption and thereby improve environmental sustainability.

Control and automation

The GEA E-Bake is designed to ensure consistent and precise temperature control, through the action of thermoregulators in each oven zone. These allow for independent heat distribution at the top and bottom of the oven, and across each zone, finely controlling also pressure and moisture inside them to guarantee a perfect baking process. The thermoregulation system is linked to a PLC that oversees safety, start-up and shutdown procedures. Recipe storage capabilities mean that it is easy for the operator to switch between products using the touch screen display. All working parameters for each product can be viewed and changed when required. GEA ovens even offer the option for remote in-line assistance and troubleshooting by our specialist engineers.

GEA E-Bake Radiant

Radiant electric oven

In this oven configuration the heat is transferred mainly by radiation, thanks to three-zone electric heaters that guarantee 0 – 100% heat modulation, a much more precise power regulation than the one offered by traditional gas ribbon burners.

Conrad

The radiant electric oven features the possibility to add a convective module the radiant zone, which allows to simply switch to a radiant-convective heating system.

GEA E-Bake Convective

Convective Electric Oven

Replacing the traditional Gas Indirect Convection oven, the Convective Electric oven is a baking solution that can be used independently or in combination with a Radiant Electric oven for a hybrid solution. It allows for independent top and bottom control, ensuring precise temperature and moisture control of the convection air.
