The fully automatic wort aeration system – DN 50 up to DN 125
With the wort aeration system WORTSTAR GEA has developed an innovative aeration unit that treats the wort gently and works efficiently.
After cooling the wort is oxygenated to increase yeast activity and to start the fermentation process. To ensure the necessary air or oxygen supply into the wort stream we have developed an aeration unit that is an innovative concept compared with other conventional aeration systems. Our unit treats the wort gently and works efficiently.
When the wort flows into the aeration nozzle, it creates a partial vacuum and air is entrained with the wort. This leads to an excellent bubble size distribution and thus to a large contact surface for oxygen uptake by the wort.
The system is the standard for obtaining the optimum yeast flotation and activity, and more precise fermentation curves. This guarantees superior quality beer.
A semi-automatic wort aeration unit for craft brewers (DN 25 to DN 50) is also available.
• Hygienic safety due to integrated product trap
• Continuous and precise wort aeration derived from fully automatic control
• Fine and even introduction of air into the cold wort through an annular gap nozzle
• Optimum oxygen uptake by the wort
• Hygienically designed
• Suitable for CIP
• Completely preassembled and tested system
• Air pressure monitoring
• Optional switch cabinet, pre-wired and factory tested
Using a Whirlpool vessel is considered the smartest method of hot trub separation. But that's not all. Compared to the centrifuge or filter the Whirlpool is also the most economical way of achieving hot break separation after wort boiling in the last stage of wort preparation.

The world's population is growing and with it demand for milk. Dairy is an essential component of many global diets. However, its production can be resource-intensive and impact the environment. GEA’s Christian Müller, Senior Director Sustainability Farm Technologies, sheds light on how technological innovations powered by GEA make milk production more efficient and profitable.
Every safe beverage and bite of food is a victory against invisible microbial threats – a battle shaped by a century of hygienic process design. With more than 100 years of engineering and hygienic design know-how, GEA sets the industry standard for processing equipment that protects food and saves lives.
Engineering innovation often takes the form of incremental gains. Once in a while, it takes a leap. Case in point: The washing machine. Launched in September 2022, two new GEA software solutions are upending convention and delivering similarly dramatic efficiency gains in the resource-intensive process of membrane filtration.
