Bag Closers

GEA offers a range of bag closing systems to suit most powder packing applications. Flexible bags come in a variety of sizes, types and construction, all of which have different requirements for handling and closing. Our range of hygienic closing and sealing systems has been designed to meet the needs of the world's powdered food, dairy and nutraceutical producers.

Our customers understand that their products must be protected during shipping and this places a great deal of importance on the type of packaging and method of closing and sealing that package.

Product lost as a result of poor closing affects our customers in many ways; it can translate into loss of profit, rejection of the entire shipment and, at the very worst, loss of reputation. Whenever the seal of any package has been compromised, this creates doubt regarding the safety and integrity of the finished product. This is an extremely important issue, for both GEA as well as our customers.

Our attention to the bag closing process involves hygienic cleaning of the sealing surface before closing. This prevents the entrapment of product between the sealed surfaces and, therefore, ensures the integrity of the finished package.

By ensuring the correct alignment of the bag prior to sealing, we guarantee that the seal is consistent along the entire bag opening. Final closure may vary with bag type, so GEA also offers a wide range of OEM solutions for bag closing that can be integrated into our combined powder filling solutions.

We can supply a complete selection of filling equipment and line components to handle all the separate material supplies and ending with the final product — packaged, palletized and shrink wrapped, ready to be dispatched to the customer.

GEA's in-depth knowledge and design experience means that we can design supply and install systems for sachets, stick-packs, cans, 25 kg bags, bulk bags and bins of all types.
