Curious about GEA’s selection process and what happens next? Discover answers to commonly asked questions and learn what to expect after you’ve submitted your application.
You can view and apply for all vacancies via the GEA job board on our website. Alternatively, you can reach all open positions by clicking on the green ‘Apply now’ button found at the top of the Careers landing page of our website.
When you identify an interesting position that matches your expectations, simply click on the ‘Apply now’ button. You can create a profile or apply without a profile. We recommend you register so that you can view your application status at any time and make changes if necessary. Upon successful receipt of your application, we will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your application.
Applications are managed through GEA’s WorkDay platform. When you apply through this platform, you will be asked to provide personal and professional information. This will enable our Talent Acquisition Team to make effective decisions when considering your application. Note, if you apply for a GEA position from a third-party site, normally you will also be directed to our WorkDay platform to fill in your data; however, this depends on your geographical location.
We strive to keep our documentation requirements to a minimum because we place greater value on the motivation and attitude of our applicants. Our minimum requirement to apply is current CV. Depending on local requirements, we may also ask you to upload the following:
- A motivational letter
- Relevant certificates
- References from previous employers
All documents should be submitted in PDF format, if possible. Individual files must not exceed 5MB.
Yes, we encourage you to apply for any position that matches your career aspirations.
You can update or withdraw your application by logging into GEA’s WorkDay portal and accessing your profile. You will see an option to withdraw your application, but only if you have already registered. This is another reason we recommend you register and create a profile during the initial application process.
If you have not created a profile, you can cancel your application by contacting the Talent Acquisition Partner – assuming you have already been in contact with them.
After you submit your application, the Talent Acquisition team will review it to assess your qualifications. This process may take a few days, depending on the volume of applications. Once the review is complete, someone from the Talent Acquisition team will contact you via email or phone to inform you about the next steps in any cases.
You can always check the status of your application through your profile if you have set up an account. Without an account, it’s not possible to track your application status online. However, if you choose not to create an account, you will need to request updates directly from the Talent Acquisition Partner who initially contacted you.
In general, we will still accept applications for as long as the position is advertised. This means if you still see the position online, we will be happy to receive your application!
At GEA, we place great importance on data protection and do everything to ensure compliance. Additional information is provided during the application process which can also be found here: Recruiting Data Privacy Statement (gea.com)
Unfortunately, that is not possible. We encourage you to explore our current vacancies and apply for a position – or positions – that best align with your qualifications and interests.
Yes, you have the option of using your last application. The new fields will be automatically filled in with the previously entered information. Please remember that we will keep your personal data for six months after the talent acquisition process has been completed, at which point we will delete it. It may therefore be necessary to re-enter your data.
If you have already applied and have been contacted by our Talent Acquisition Partner, please feel free to direct your questions to them.
Typically, candidates are invited to three touchpoints, however the process can vary slightly depending on the role. These touchpoints may occur on the same day or different days and will include meetings with the GEA Talent Acquisition Partner and the Hiring Manager. Providing a trial day will depend on the specific position. Likewise, someone from the team may attend the interview – or you may be introduced to them after the interview. Interviews may be more casual or formal depending on the role; candidates will always be informed how best to prepare. Generally, interviews range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the specific role and the number of questions involved. The Talent Acquisition Partner will provide details on how to prepare and who will be in attendance.
We recommend preparing for your interview as you usually do, while also being as authentic as possible. We want to get to know you as an individual before diving into your professional details.
Here are a few tips:
1. Prepare some questions of your own to ask during the interview. This could be questions about the role you are interviewing for or questions about the company or about the team. Of course, you may find some answers in advance by visiting the About us area of our website as well as our Careers page.
2. If you are interviewing remotely, ensure you have a strong internet connection before the call begins. Select a quiet location with good illumination.
The invitation to the interview always includes the names of the interviewers. However, you will be informed of who these individuals will be ahead of the interview . If this has not been made clear, you can ask the Talent Acquisition Partner handling your case to inform you.
You may only apply for the same position again after six months, assuming the job is still listed. We encourage you to apply for multiple positions within GEA, where your skills and our requirements are aligned,
If selected for an interview, a Talent Acquisition Partner will contact you directly. This typically happens within a few days, though there may be occasional delays. Rest assured, they will keep you updated, and you can reach out with any questions.
