GEA mts® flowtec – sterile valves for highest hygienic demands

Tank-bottom valve mts® flowtec N35

mts® flowtec N35 tank-bottom valves enable mixproof separation of two liquids in aseptic process systems. These valves are applied as welded-in tank bottom valves, primarily in the dairy, beverage and food industries, but also in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

mts® flowtec tank-bottom valves feature two-layer stainless steel bellows that hermetically seal the product chamber from the exterior and thus safely protect the sterile medium from any outside contamination. The integrated steam barrier (ISB) enables the safe separation of the product lines with a sterile media and can be safely closed off from atmosphere via the two integrated side valves. The valve series N35 is characterized by its compact structure, thanks to the sophisticated sterile chamber concept.

Main components

Housing
Housings for the tank-bottom valves N35 are available with two or three port connections. Various connection sizes can be selected. The valves are produced with screwed flange connections by default.

Internal assembly
The internal assembly contains two valve seats by default, which are safely sealed with elastomer sealings in EPDM. For the valve seat A these are executed as radial seals, for the valve seat B as O-Ring.

Actuator
The standard version of the pneumatic actuator is designed as spring-closing / airopening (NC). In addition to the main stroke and separate single-seat lifting for both seats, the valve can be set to standby mode via a fourth air connection.

Clamp
A two-segment clamp connection enables a pressure-stable and safe connection of the main components.

Sterile chamber handling
The compact design of the double-seat valve is a result of its sophisticated sterile chamber concept, with two separate stainless-steel bellows placed into one another. Entry and exit connections for the sterile medium are located in the lantern area and safely closed by two small shut-off valves, which are not part of the scope of delivery.

Feedback system
The tank-bottom valve N35 can be either equipped with open feedback units or T.VIS® feedback systems by default. Feedback units from third party suppliers can be mounted via specially designed adaptors. In addition, the valve can be equipped with a leakage detection unit for the bellows.
