Savings in operating costs and space requirements: GEA presents Grasso M compressor at SMM

September 3, 2024

At SMM 2024 in Hamburg, GEA is presenting the Grasso M, a screw compressor for industrial and marine applications that delivers significant savings in total cost of ownership. GEA Grasso M is designed for maximum energy efficiency. The M models consume an average of three to five percent less drive energy than previous screw compressor units. This means that the M series contributes to considerable savings in energy costs. Furthermore, the GEA Grasso M compressors are operated without an oil pump. For refrigeration system operators, this means lower energy and spare parts costs.

Reduce energy, service and maintenance costs and set new standards for total cost of ownership

The integration of the suction filter and the coupling housing significantly simplifies installation on the unit. The energy efficiency of these compressors is based on the stepless capacity control in conjunction with the extended, variable Vi range (internal volume ratio). The variable speed from 1,000 to 6,000 rpm enables a wide range of applications and maximum efficiency at full and partial load.

The sophisticated design and low parts complexity combine reliability and ease of servicing with high efficiency. This saves considerable energy, service and other running costs. This also contributes to a reduction in the overall operating costs of the refrigeration system.
