Reciprocating Compressors

GEA Grasso V series 2ⁿᵈ Generation

Reciprocating compressors for industrial refrigeration

The reciprocating (piston) compressor unit of the GEA Grasso V series are your #1 choice in the cooling capacity range when you are looking for the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). It’s unique design results in the best efficiency available, the lowest oil carry over and the use of extended service intervals. This compressor is the standard across many industrial applications, such as the food and beverage processing.

The new 2ⁿᵈ Generation reciprocating compressors from GEA have all the key features of previous Grasso V models, but better: more robust design, up to 25% lower maintenance costs, improved capacity across a range of models, and a better fit with customers’ needs. Improved bearing materials give better resistance against ammonia liquid, start/stops, and longer service life. Extended maintenance intervals reduce labor and parts costs. Increased swept volumes give up to 25% more capacity. Compatibility with selected PAO oils, and ISO VG 68 oil used in heat pump compressors, ensures the best possible fit for customers’ needs.
