From aspiration to profitability: producing biochemicals by biorefinery

Biorefining is a critical pillar of the growing bioeconomy and involves converting biomass into diverse bio-based products and components for use across diverse sectors, including the chemical industry. By leveraging renewable resources, industry, including the growing bio-based chemicals segment, is lowering its CO2 footprint by developing new innovations that reduce fossil feedstock usage.
Lithium Batteries Promise New Era in Green Transport

Lithium batteries promise new era in green transport

Lithium is the lightest metal known to man. This third element in the Periodic table is powering the modern world. Today’s lithium batteries keep our medical, consumer and industrial electronic devices switched on, and can store energy generated by electricity grids. But it is the use of lithium-ion batteries in the next generation of electric and hybrid vehicles that will make the biggest impact on the global lithium market. It is no surprise that this silvery-white, reactive metal is often referred to as ‘white petroleum’.

New solutions for producing high-purity MAP fertilizer more economically

Some say the application of fertilizer has done more to reduce world hunger than any other single innovation or action. While perhaps true, the fertilizer sector and growers are unable to rest on these impressive laurels given growing demands for solutions that make more efficient use of nutrient resources and have a less negative impact on the environment. GEA is helping manufacturers to meet some of these tough challenges and reducing their production costs in the process.
